Republicans: There Will Be Blood
This was on the cover of Newsweek about why the right hates John McCain. Now that he has the Republican nomination just about wrapped up, it should be interesting how he treads water with the extreme right. They’ve been screaming and howling about how much they hate them, but the conservative and moderate wing of the party just isn’t buying their garbage. Ann Coulter the twiggy blonde decided she’d throw a scare out there by saying, “I would vote for the devil over John McCain, thus my claim that I would vote for Hillary over John McCain”. This is about as believable as everything else she says. Well the comments from the Madonna of the deep right didn’t do anything. And the other entertainer of the extreme Rush Limbaugh said, “John McCain has stabbed his own party in the back, I can’t tell you how many times”. Although McCain has to get this small segment aboard to win in November he said, “I don’t care what she thinks”, and as for Rush he said, “I don’t even listen to Rush…I’m not a masochist”. One advisor said, McCain is “unwilling to bow and kiss the ring” of these antagonists. I think McCain has other ideas on rebuilding the Republican Party if he gets in office.

Then there’s the cranks out there like James Dobson, “Should John McCain capture the nomination, as many assume, I believe this general election will offer the worst choices for president in my lifetime”. Then there’s the intellectual Michelle Malkin saying, “He is an expert at filibustering and he is an expert at crooked talk”. You can always count on Michelle for wreaking havoc with her lack of intellectual discourse. How about Laura Ingraham, “There is no way in hell I could pull the lever for John McCain” or Glenn Beck, “I think John McCain is more dangerous even then Hillary Clinton”. Boy it sounds like there is already blood being spilled from the neoconservatives of the party. The National Review bloggers the Reaganauts for McCain aren’t happy with the cranks pointing out the terrible things the GOP said about Reagan all those years ago. The funny thing about it is that John McCain is more conservative then Ronald Reagan was. These are strange times indeed for the Republican Party. With George Bush in the latest polls showing a 30 percent approval rating, 29 Republicans leaving congress and a worsening economy, there will be blood this fall.
If Barrack Obama gets the nod from the Democrats, it’s going to be quite a contrast with John McCain the old man against the youth and energetic optimism of an Obama. This will be a Bob Dole II campaign for the GOP and one they can’t win. There definitely going to lose more seats in both houses to the extent that the Democrats will be able to move legislation through at will. There will be progressives that will be setting policy while the GOP tries to figure out how to rebuild their party once again. The only thing they can hope for in the fall is Hillary Clinton to get the nod. But really in the end, the fall campaign will turn out to be, “No Country for Old Men”, because beyond John McCain’s military background, that’s simply what he’ll turn out to be.

John McCain's platform is so much like Bush's that I fail to see why they are so riled? He isn't going to win the Presidency but then neither could any other Republican. These guys might as well cool their heels; they hour is past.
We'll see...I guess there has been blood already....
I liked that."No country for old men"we really do not have much to choose from.Who ever win the dem.nomination will get my support.
Then again, not too crazy about them. She cries and he lies.
Should be a fun time for all.Like playing ping pong.Who will get it?
Good post there.Fredo
I have no objection to McCain's critics from the right. I've been one myself. But on balance, I'm even more disappointed with Bush for his desertion of conservative principles. Anything can happen over the next months, but from this vantage point I can't see how McCain could defeat the Democrat ticket if it has Obama on it in either position.
If the Republicans have a chance, John McCain was the best choice I think.
Can't speak for all us Right wing etremists by as for myself I see McCain as a backdoor, double dealing, poitical wank of the most common sort. Possibly less so than Barack or Hillary but not enough to stand up and root for.
How come you guys aren't able to smell the the stink on your own candidates? I believe it was Bob Dole who suggested the answer: 'Don't be surprised when, if given a chance to vote on raising taxes, more people will vote for than against. That's because the people voting for increased taxation know that the government will take the money from the "rich" and give it to them.'
The goal of the Democrat party is (and has been for my entire lifetime) to make the majority of American's so dependant on government that they will have no choice but to vote Democrat.
Don't listen to them - watch them.
Well it's too bad the John Birch Society isn't running someone you could vote for. It's clear there's people parading around as conservatives when they play such a deep right field they're out of the ball park.
There's been a foul odor coming from the White House for the last seven years. I'm not sure the stench could get any worse?
Listen, the goal of the Republican Party is (and has been for my entire lifetime) to make the majority of Republicans so dependent on big business that they will have no choice but to vote for the money and the hell with the rest of the country.
The far-right nutters like James "I-lick-the-ball$-of-the-people- responsible-for-my-fat-faith-based-intitiatives-paycheck" Dobson may all move to Paraguay and live with George and Laura Bush on the 100,000 acre ranch they've bought down their to avoid Dumbya's legal scandals resulting from his corrupt and Machiavellian "leadership" ...
Rush Limbaugh is a bloated has-been who should have retired after he served us well as the much-needed pain in Clinton's corrupt side ...
And, Anne, well, she belongs on a planet all her own. Maybe when that guy who wrote Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, he failed to consider that Ann Coulter is Hitler in drag ...
All three of these political whores should just go on the road together and come out and say what they REALLY BELIEVE:
"We wanna tell you people what we are really all about :
1) We want only white folks to be allowed to be American citizens.
2) We only want red-neck, hard-core fundamentalist White Supremacist wannabe government building bombers to live in the USA.
3) We simply love stirring up fear and xenophobia because it brings us lots of cash, plus those faith-based initiatives help make it possible for James Dobson to enjoy his rich diet and the finest selection of table wines.
4) We love sending poor black and Mexican kids off to get killed in Iraq, and, oh well, if a few unlucky white kids catch a bullet or a hail of shrapnel, we'll shed some crocodile tears while we pretend we don't have a choice about the fact that our political friends are getting rich off the whole big deal .... "
Wow, I think I'm gonna go take a shower, so I can wash off the stench of trying to imagine what it must be like to be inside the minds of losers like Ann, James, and Rush ...
